Can you bend over backwards? Do you want to learn how? Then try joining our fantastic gymnastics team. There will be an informational meeting in the L- room today immediately after school.

If you?re looking for a supportive group that offers a safe and welcoming environment free of prejudice, then you should check out the Phoenix Project. This group offers a great variety of activities to take part in where you can meet plenty of awesome friends! Meetings take place on Wednesdays from 4 to 7 at 13613 Detroit Avenue. Speaking of things called Phoenix, did you know that LHS has its own literary magazine? Did you know that you can have your creative works published in this magazine? The first meeting of the Phoenix will take place next Tuesday, October 2, in mod 32 after school. All creative writers are welcome.
Another great outlet for writers, musicians and actors is Poetry Slam. If you?re looking for a club that incorporates writing, rhythm, and performance? Then look no further because Poetry Slam might be the club for you! Poetry Slam will be holding its first club meeting this Monday, October 1st in Mod 37 immediately after school. Mr. Overholt is looking forward to seeing some of last year?s participants, but he?s also on the prowl for some new blood. If you?re a talented writer or performer, or know someone who is, then please come check us out. Everyone is welcome!
Another outlet for your creative is the genre of dance. If you have the moves like Gene Kelly or Ginger Rogers then the Dance Group is for you. The Dance Group is having its first informational meeting tonight at 3:30 in the Dance room. If you have the moves like Jagger, be there.
Hey LHS, if you are into showing off your mad dancing skills, then you should make an appearance at the 2012 Homecoming Dance! It will take place this Saturday from 7 to 10. Tickets must be reserved in the bookroom for $15. Your student ID and principal approval are also required. This year?s theme is ?LHS at the Beach?. Don?t miss it!
The dress code for this year?s homecoming is semi-formal. It was developed and approved by our very own Student Council. If any of you girls are wondering if your dress will be approved by the school, check into Ms. Breckel?s office in the old building. Be sure to check in with that ahead of time!
The Battle of the Bridge will kick off this homecoming weekend as our ranger gridders take on the pirates of Rocky River. Kickoff is at 7pm on our home field.
Presale tickets for this Friday?s football game can be purchased in the athletic office on Thursday and Friday from 7:45 to 3:45. The cost for a student presale football ticket is $4.00. ALL tickets at the gate are $6.00.
Juniors? and Seniors? need to remember that U.S. Army will be visiting LHS on Thursday September 27th from 10:18 ? 12:30p. On Friday, September 28th, Cleveland State University ?will also be here recruiting from 11:00 ? 12:30pm. We encourage you to meet with these representatives in the east gym lobby as you seek more information to help you make decisions about your future. However, don?t forget to get a pass from your teacher or the Guidance Secretary before heading to these recruiting sessions.
Don?t forget, tomorrow is Hawaiian shirt day. Find you most festive, or ugliest Hawaiian shirt and wear it proudly to all of your classes tomorrow. I?ve got mine. Have a great day, LHS.
